Ohio, why?

March 24th and 25th has brought us snow. A few weeks ago we had what the news called "our last blast of winter"...Ohio is a liar. Ohio likes to get it's people hopes up...you've all heard the jokes about, "What snows in the morning, burns in the afternoon, then rains at night? Ohio."
Yeah, well, it's no joke, it's the truth...One second it's cold, then it's hot, then it's windy....Ohio is the menopausal state....

Now that that's out of my system, back to what's been going on here...
Unfortunately, I don't have to much to update you on. We bought some hay last Sunday, we were able to scrap up enough money buy 80 square bales...which sounds like a lot but will only last us a little over a month....

Fubar is...getting better...He still can't stand up fully on his own (he can get his back end up by himself), and he shuffles rather than walks, but, still, he's getting better...We're still giving him daily injections of (7ml of) Vitamin B complex and (2ml of) Penicillin. His stall also (finally) has a salt block and we finally got some feed so he's also getting one and a half scoops of grain (we use icing-like for cakes-containers for scoops) twice a day...

Our chicken run is destroyed (again). What was suppose to be "our last blast of winter" a week or so ago pulled down the roof and door. I was able to make a make shift prop to hold the wood door frame up, which holds the roof up, so we can let the chickens out, but when it gets a little nicer and not so wet we're going to have to fix it....again...

One of our barn cats had kittens last night. I went out and (as usual) she had them in the boys (buck, wethers, rams) stall. Right in the corner-RIGHT next to Fubar! Actually, when I went in, Fubar has squashing them, as he tried to stand...It was no surprise to me...every time one of the barn cats have kittens they have them in one of the goat stalls. The cats love the goats...

Marilyn (the other sick kitten) is still in the bathroom (where we've been keeping her inside). She's still really congested, sneezing and caughing, so we don't want to put her out with the other cats and risk her spreading it-that or being out in the elements (not in a warm, dry, always have cat food bathroom) she'll go 'down hill' and die...

The topic in our house this winter is getting our farm more sustainable. Right now, we have a bee hive-but we've never got honey from it. Our orchard is a joke. We're talking about gardening again...and Samantha and I are talking about fencing in one of the horse fields with livestock fencing so we can put our goat out in the field and they can eat what the horses don't....so, we have different project ideas for this summer....not sure if any will pan out, but...we'll see...

On a different topic, how is everyone's One Thousand Things list coming along (info found HERE)...After (come April) 4 months, I only have 92 things!!! Some include:
86. Finding peace while working out.
77. Junk food dinner-we went and bought pizza, cheese sticks, potato skins and ice cream from Kroger's and had a movie night.
70. Bottled Water. (I love Kroger's bottled water. I hate tap, filtered and other brands of water...only Kroger's please.-it's like my coffee. I love it!!!)
67. Moon Shadows.
What are some of your One Thousand Things?
